 General Community: Less than 21 years and more than 32 years

 OBC Community: Less than 21 years and more than 35 years

 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Community: Less than 21 years and more than 37 years

Physical qualification to become Police Commissioner –

 To get the post of Police Commissioner, the height of male candidates should be 165 centimetres and when expanded, their chest should be up to 85 centimetres.  Women who want to become Police Commissioner should be at least 150 cm tall to become Police Commissioner.

How many times can one try to become a Police Commissioner?

 Just as different age limits have been fixed for different categories to become Police Commissioner, similarly the maximum effort limit has also been fixed for different categories, which is as follows.

 General Category Candidates: General Category Candidates can try a maximum of 6 times.

 OBC Category Candidates: OBC Category Candidates can try a maximum of 9 times.

 Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category: No maximum attempt limit has been fixed for them.

Process to become Police Commissioner –

 For your information, let us tell you that to become a Police Commissioner, you have to appear in the Civil Service Exam/IAS exam conducted by UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission and only after passing this exam, you will be able to move ahead.  You get a chance to become a Police Commissioner.  To become a Police Commissioner, you have to appear in the examination conducted by UPSC, which exam is divided into a total of 3 stages, which are as follows.

  • preliminary examination :
  • main exam
  • Interview

1. Preliminary Examination :

 To fulfil your dream of becoming a Police Commissioner, first of all, you have to appear in the preliminary examination conducted by UPSC.  In this exam, you have to give 2 question papers whose total marks are 200-200.  In this, the first question paper is of General Studies and all the questions in it are objective type.

 To pass this question paper, you must score at least 33% marks.  Its second question paper is of Civil Service Aptitude Test and like the first paper, it also contains objective-type questions.  This exam is organized by UPSC every year in June.

 2. Main Exam :

Those candidates who pass the preliminary exam to become Commissioner, get a chance to appear in the main exam in the next stage.  In this exam, candidates have to give a total of 9 question papers, out of which the examination committee gives 3 hours to the candidates to answer each question paper.  The total mark of all these 9 question papers is 1750.  The main examination to become a commissioner is conducted by UPSC every year in October.

3. Interview :

 Candidates who have passed the preliminary examination and main examination of the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are called for an interview in the third phase.  As difficult as the Civil Services exam is, its interview is also considered to be equally difficult, because here the candidates have to face some highly educated people.

 Who asks the candidate a common question in such a twisted way that the candidate gets confused in answering it?  Therefore, here you have to listen to the questions of the interview panelist with restraint and patience and answer them according to your intelligence and discretion.  This interview is a of total 275 marks.  That’s why prepared for the interview in advance.

Training of Police Commissioner –

 When you pass the preliminary examination, main examination and interview of the Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC, then you are selected.  After this, you are not given the job of Police Commissioner directly, rather you are given training before being posted on the post of Police Commissioner.

 You have to take this training in any police training academy in India.  Generally, this training lasts from 6 months to 1 year and when you complete your training, you are also given the salary for your training and only after completing the training, you are given a posting on the post of Police Commissioner.

1. Complete graduation :

 After applying for the Civil Service Exam, the Civil Service Exam is organized by UPSC on a fixed day, in which you have to appear and pass its preliminary exam and main exam.

 4. Take out the interview :

 After passing the preliminary examination and main examination of the Civil Services Exam, you are called for an interview.  To become a commissioner, you are required to pass the interview round.  That’s why prepare well for it.

5. Go to training :

 After passing the interview you get selected.  After this, you are sent to any police training academy in India for training, where your training lasts for 6 months or 1 year and after completion of the training, you are given the post of Police Commissioner.  In this way, your dream of becoming a police commissioner comes true.

Salary of Police Commissioner –

 The post of Police Commissioner is considered a very high post in the police department.  Therefore, it is obvious that they would also receive a good salary.  In India, the Police Commissioner receives a salary of approximately Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,10,000 per month.  Apart from this, many facilities are provided to the Police Commissioner by the government.
