What is a forest guard?

 Forest Guard is a type of soldier who is deployed to protect and defend the forests and wildlife of their country and states.

How to become a forest guard?

 Although the process of becoming a forest guard is different for every state of India, there are some steps which are common in every state. To become a forest guard, you will have to go through the following steps:

  • First of all you have to apply for Forest Guard Recruitment.
  • Exam will have to be given in the next phase
  • After passing the exam you will have a physical test
  • Then you are called for medical test
  • After this you will have an interview
  • Then you are sent for training
  • After completion of training, you will be appointed to the post of forest guard.

Qualification for Forest Guard :

  • Must be a citizen of India.
  • You must have passed 10th or 12th.
  • Age should be between 18 years to 28 years.
  • SC-ST people get relaxation of 5 years in age limit.
  • There is a provision of 3 years relaxation for OBC people.

Forest Guard Physical Test :

  • Height should be 163 cm for men and 150 cm for women.
  • Men’s chest should be 78 cm to 83 cm.
  • Men will have to complete the 24 kilometer race in 4 hours carrying 10 kg weight.
  • Women will have to complete the 14 kilometer race in 4 hours carrying a weight of 5 kg.
  • Under Short Put, women have to throw the ball 3.50 meters and men have to throw the ball 5 meters.
  • Under Long Jump, women have to jump 2 meters and men have to jump 5 meters.
  • Under Short Jump, women have to jump 0.70 meters and men have to jump 1.10 meters.

What is the salary of a forest guard?

 The salary of forest guard employees can range from Rs 21200 to Rs 70000 per month.  Along with salary, the government also gives a lot of money as allowance to the forest guard employees.
