What is Chartered Accountancy?

How to become a Chartered Accountant?

 To become a CA, you have to pass the CPT exam after 12th.  After passing the CPT exam, you can register for the IPCC exam.  Although many times students miss the CPT exam, you can appear for this exam even after completing your graduation.  How to become a Chartered Accountant, step by step guide is given below:

CA Foundation Course :

 The first step in how to become a Chartered Accountant is CA Foundation.  Candidates interested in this post have to prepare for CA Foundation course after passing 12th.  Earlier this course was also called CPT, in which the candidates were made to undergo entrance test for CA.  At that time, to do this course, the candidate had to register only after 10th.  But now it is known as CA Foundation Course, to do this the applicant has to register after 12th.  This examination is held every year in May and November.

CA Intermediate Course :

 The second stage for candidates who crack CA Foundation is CA Intermediate course.  In this, candidates can apply directly after CA foundation or graduation.  It is not necessary for the candidates doing graduation or post graduation from any stream to do CA foundation, but for this it is very important for the candidates to have minimum 55% marks in commerce stream and 60% marks in other streams in graduation/post graduation.

Articleship :

 After doing CA IPCC or Intermediate course, you will have to complete your 3 years articleship under a CA.  Here you get practical knowledge from tax returns to auditing.  Here you will know about the work and responsibilities of CA.

CA final :

 Candidates can apply for CA Final when they clear CA Intermediate and complete their articleship or 6 months before completing their training.  This is the last stage of becoming a CA, after passing which the candidate is appointed for the post of CA.

 The salary of a CA depends on their skills and experience.  Generally, the average annual salary of a CA in India ranges from INR 6-30 lakh per year.  According to the data of last few years, the average salary of a CA is INR 8 lakh per year.  There are many students who prefer to take 2-3 years of experience so that they can grow better in life.
